The Spice Village Restaurant Milton Keynes Barbers Against Cancer Fund Raiser.
My daily Gratitude vitamin certainly worked this morning as indeed it does every morning, but today was even better as my dear friend Padistan once more brought us joy and happiness, and not just to the Padistan Team but to a host of others last night at the above event in Milton Keynes.
To wake up today and read that someone had bid £100 for your work was, to say the least uplifting, and humbling at the same time, and when you also realize that this money will go to such a worthy cause as; The Macmillan Unit Milton Keynes, it is even more satisfying.
It was always my dream when creating Padistan that he would bring happiness and Joy to everyone, that is all I ever wanted and my dream comes true every day, for that, I am always grateful.
A very kind gentleman by the name of Phil Holden outbid everyone else with a £100 bid for my book The Tales of Padistan Bear `Special Edition` which went up for auction at last night’s event. All of us at Padistan Publishing thank you, Phil, for your kindness and hope you and your family enjoy Padistan.
The event was organized by my good friend Tony Roberts of Just Gents fame Milton Keynes. Tony over recent years has suffered varying degrees of health issues with Strokes and then Prostate Cancer, recently culminating in the Cancer; Myeloma. Like always he faced everything head on, including his recent trauma with a stem cell operation. This was a long and tiring process for him, as of course, it is for anyone who has this condition, but he is still going strong.
Tony is a worker; a performer, and being this way he decided he wanted to do more to raise awareness of this condition, to the people who battle with this daily and to the army of Nurses and Doctors who give us all such sterling service, which very often goes unpublished.
He has nothing but praise for all those who have attended him over the recent years with various health issues; Doctors, Nurses, Consultants, all of whom have given him an extended lifespan, and for that, he is eternally grateful.
However, he seeks no recognition but wants to put that extended lifespan to good use, and he will, indeed so far he has. As a prominent; Barber Shop Proprietor, Master Barber of The Year 2016, and also recently appointed Master Ambassador for Mattaki Scissors, a prestigious supplier to the Hairdressing Industry, he felt he was in the ideal position to grab some headlines and contribute something to all those working with cancer; in particular, that fantastic organization; the Macmillan Nurses.
And so he organized Barbers United against Cancer. Last night’s event at The Spice Village Restaraunt started the fundraising, and today the main event takes place. How it works is all those who have joined his organization will donate just one pound from each haircut they perform today. We wish them well and happy clipping.
In conclusion, The Team at Padistan Publishing wish you to know Tony that we feel immensely proud to be able to contribute and be a part of this amazing project and wish you the success you so richly deserve.
Thank you for reading this blog.
I wish you all Health, Happiness to use Gratitude each day and to have what I have; People around you…who care
