Frying tonight has taken on a new meaning for customers of a fish & Chip shop nestled on the borders of Leicestershire and Derbyshire in the lovely village of Church Gresley nr Swadlincote. The award-winning family business, Andy’s Fish Bar, which is run by Chris Costa Constantinou, and his beautiful wife Elena have an extensive menu and serve a superb range of takeaway or eat-in meals.
I am always impressed by anyone who looks beyond their everyday work/profession with a creative outlook, which not only enhances the business but provides a little bit extra for the customer; it is not always about making money. It is about enjoying what you do.
Chris, at Andy’s Fish Bar, illustrates this perfectly. He has from the outset worked hard to; provided award-winning food, a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes, including `Gluten Free` and relaxing surroundings should you wish to eat in. He continually looks at ways in which he can please his valued customers, which he considers friends of Andy`s Fish Bar. This ethos is also carried out by his dedicated staff.
Chris, who is a keen Aquarist, a keeper of fish for the uninitiated, of which I am certainly one, has taken his hobby one step further by installing the most stunning aquarium in his Fish n Chip shop; which has now turned into an attraction.
Chris has designed and built this fantastic addition to his Chip Shop determined that his hobby should also be a delight for others as they queue for their Fish n Chips. The redesigning of his shop included a restaurant area where you can order your favorite meal and eat in comfort while admiring the fabulous specimens swimming around in the large Aquarium, and they are incredible.
This, for sure, puts a new slant on ‘Frying Tonight’; however, Chris assures me the fish in the aquarium are purely for show, and only their cousins will be battered and served to you.
However, to accomplish all this, you need support, and Chris is the first to pay tribute to his lovely wife, Elena, Brother George, and all the family and staff for their Love and Support.
This attraction draws interest and custom from far and wide. What a way to enhance your business and show off with pride your collection of beautiful marine life, all lovingly cared for. Should you find yourself in the area then it is worth a visit to Andy’s Fish Bar, you will not be disappointed with either the food or the attraction.
And before anyone asks you cannot choose your take away from the aquarium, there is no Cod or Haddock in there, least I don’t think so. Congratulations, Chris, on a job well done.
