Gratitude Thought For Today

Gratitude Thought for Today

Hi everyone,

Here we are, the start of yet another week; I hope you are all well and not forgetting your Vitamin `G` as necessary today as it ever was.

Recently my wife had a cataract operation, now an everyday op, and one she has had before. Now, although, as I say, it’s a regular op that requires a little uncomfortable treatment, it can be invasive and a little scary.

During this time, the care given to her was immeasurable, the kindness and reassurance the surgeon and the staff gave her was heartwarming, now this may sound glib and over the top; however, it is true.

During the day, my wife’s feeling was one of comfort, faith, and confidence. The subsequent aftercare was equally reassuring. We were both grateful, grateful to the surgeon, the staff, and for the positive outcome of the operation. It is an everyday operation; sight is a vital part of living, and to have that restored to normal is gratifying.

Sunday morning was the last day of aftercare. After an examination and confident chat with the surgeon, we left; as we left the office, the receptionist asked me, “Mr. John, can I ask you a question?” “of course” I replied, curious. “Why do you say `Bless you` each time you leave us?” “Because I am grateful for what you have done, that you are all here to care for us, and because it’s a comforting phrase to use, I also hope it makes you feel the same”. I replied.

Her reply was more than I expected, “Oh it does; I am not sure I should say this because I do not wish for you to be ill, but I look forward to your visit when I see your name, I too feel happy when you leave, and you say Bless you thank you” The doctor looked back at me and said, “she says, Bless you all the time.” I left pleased, not because of me, but because by saying` Bless you, ` it had made someone happy.

You try it.

Today if you are about to undergo treatment, give thanks and gratitude to those whose vocation is to heal you, be grateful that they have taken the years of their life in training to make sure others benefit from their knowledge and expertise.

Daily Gratitude brings about a calmness, relaxation, and love in all you do, so don’t forget your Vitamin `G. `

Thank you for following me.

I wish you to have what I have each day, people around you who care.
